The theater has taught me everything I know about history, politics, psychology, art, language, science and ultimately the human spirit. It is a deep learning because it is not just intellectual it is also visual, visceral, and emotional.

We as a culture have become increasingly isolated, relying on automated tellers, voicemail, and computers to shop, entertain, and communicate. Our communal experiences are becoming all the more rare and all the more crucial. I believe the theater is our most powerful communal experience.

I am interested in what the theater can do that nothing else can. My work exposes the mechanics of the theatrical event, taking every opportunity to reveal the immediacy of time and space. I want to create theater that is mindful about how it intersects with a given community and the larger world. I champion stories that need to be told at this point in our history, and search for the most provocative way to tell that story to a contemporary audience.
